Hilde’s Dream refers to one of Hildegard of Bingin’s visions. As in much of my work this is a springboard to recast the allegorical narrative as a more personal reflection. Duality is again emphasized. The thorn symbols refer to protection and threat, The Marian symbol of the flaming heart to balance the “ring of fire” described by Hildegard, elemental imagery of fire, water and air. Inception and creation reflected in the seedpods and self in the hand shadow.
