Meditation Series
These pastel and monotypes are visual explorations of transcendence, time and memory.
I have always been interested in the space created in Byzantine and Sienese icons.
In viewing them my desire was to remove the figures so that I could more freely enter the space they inhabit. In this Meditations series I am attempting to do that. I use the ocean as a metaphor for the spiritual. Light, atmosphere and color for the transcendental while their duality speaks to the temporal.
